The “G. Leopardi” School of Advanced Studies is organizing the SAF / Schools of Advanced Education titled “Visual Studies: Contemporary views and methodologies for analyzing the relationship between humans and images“, which will take place in Macerata from 14 to 17 July 2025.

The SAF 03 offers an introduction to contemporary visual studies, exploring how images shape perception, identity, and social experience. Through interdisciplinary lectures and seminars, the course provides tools for critically analyzing photographs, videos, and digital media, focusing on how visual forms produce meaning and influence everyday life.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

La SAF is open to:
~ PhD students;
~ Master’s students (or students in the final two years of single-cycle degree programmes) enrolled in Scuole di Studi Superiori Universitarie.

Subject to availability of remaining places, applications may also be accepted from students enrolled in a master’s degree programme (or in the final two years of a single-cycle degree programme) who are not affiliated with a Scuola Superiore Universitaria, with particular consideration given to those who demonstrate a strong motivation for research and advanced academic training.

Applications must include:
~ a motivation letter;
~ a Curriculum Vitae with details of the formative activity the candidate is carrying out (e.g., title of doctoral or Master thesis, exams taken with grades).

  • Up to 5 places are reserved for Master’s degree students
  • Participation is free of charge. Accommodation and meals are fully covered by the “G. Leopardi” School of Advanced Studies.
